EDUCATION

1974        Graduated from Guilford High School, Rockford, IL.

1974-1975   Attended Simpson College, Indianola, IA.

1975-1979   Attended Milton College, Milton WI and graduated with B.A. in
            Music Education with Piano Emphasis.

1979        Student Teacher at Delavan-Darien High School and Darien
            Elementary School and certified to teach by State of Wisconsin.



MUSICAL EXPERIENCE


1976-1985   Sang with several choral societies including the Milton College
            Chamber Choir, the Milton Choral Union, and the Lake Mills
            Oratorio Group.  Toured Europe with the Milton College Choir.
            Was choral singer with the Northern Wisconsin Music Festival.

1978-1980   Gave two student piano recitals at Milton College, Milton, WI.

1981-1983   Played lead guitar and sang vocals in Left, a theatrical art-
            rock band and the Erasers, a hard-rock trio.

1983-1987   Was lead guitarist, sang vocals, and composed original songs
            for The Outnumbered, a four-piece pop/rock outfit.  Made 
            several national tours, recorded three albums, and appeared
            on one compilation album.  Written up in numerous periodicals
            and newspapers and in the book The Flashback by Vernon
            Joynson who praised the "melodic guitar work reminiscent of
            The Byrds."  Reviewed favorably by Spin magazine and also by
            Simon Frith in The Sunday Times of London (England) who wrote,
            "I'm particularly fond of The Outnumbered's combination of
            Seventies' punk thrash, Sixties' mod melodies and Eighties'
            solemn words."

1988-1993   Played lead guitar, sang vocals and contributed songwriting
            for The Last Straw, a bluegrass/rock band.  Released two
            cassettes and performed at the South by Southwest Music
            Festival, Austin, Texas, March 1992.

1988-1990   Lead guitarist for Rhythm Rangers, a rockabilly/hard-rock
            group.  Opened shows for various national acts.

1989        Did studio work for cassette with the rock band Real Feel.

1991-1992   Performed piano, guitar and percussion for aerobics class at
            the McKinley Foundation YMCA, Champaign, IL.

1992-       Lead guitar player and manager for Hidden Places, a jazz/rock
            improvisational trio.

1994-       Guitar player for Hidden Universe, an ambient music duo.
 
1994        Played in Hidden Universe at the NOW Music Festival in November
            1994 at Dominican College in San Rafael, CA

1994-1997   Played lead guitar with progressive rock group, Iconoclast, 

            Champaign, IL.



1995-1997   Played lead guitar and sang background vocals with Chicago

            pop/rock group, Weird Summer.



1996        Featured lead guitarist on Weird Summer CD, I.S.O., Parasol 

            Records, Urbana, IL.



1997        Reissue CD of Outnumbered songs, Surveying the Damage, 

            Parasol Records, Urbana, IL.



1998-       Presently plays bass guitar and sings with pop/rock group The 

            Signalmen, Champaign, IL.



1999        Played bass and sang background vocals on self-titled Signalmen 

            CD, Parasol Records, Urbana, IL.



2000        Performed with Champaign, IL pop/rock group, The Signalmen, at SXSW Music

            Festival, Austin, TX, March 2000.

            Champaign, IL, c1992; 2000.
