Welcome to my home page. It's currently under construction, but you can find my updated CV on this page, as well as links to current research interests and the like. I am currently a postdoctoral associate at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the materials science and engineering department . I conduct research on the growth and analysis of novel diboride thin films, under the supervision of Professors Abelson and Girolami.
Previously, I worked at Argonne National Laboratory. I grew nanocrystalline diamond films using CVD, concentrating on the growth, characterization, and device fabrication of nitrogen-doped conductive nanocrystalline diamond.
I completed my Ph.D. in materials science and engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in John Abelson's group in 2001. I primarily studied the sputter deposition of thin silicon films, especially the effect of the ion/neutral bombardment ratio during growth. I received a M.S. in Physics from the University of Virginia in 1995, and my B.A. in Physics from Bard College in 1993.
