Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion
Monday, April 28, 7:00 p.m.
Sarah Lee Guthrie, granddaughter of Woody Guthrie, and her husband, Johnny Irion, will play a free concert at The Urbana Free Library on Monday, April 28 at 7:00 PM.
Sarah Lee and Johnny's music provides a contemporary take on the profound simplicity and lyrical beauty that distinguished the work of Sarah's legendary grandfather and assures the continuation of the Guthrie legacy for years to come. In the same way that Woody championed the common man in the Dust Bowl days and wrote about universal themes that matter to all of us, Sarah Lee and Johnny write and sing about today’s issues and concerns in a way that is realistic but still optimistic.
Come hear their folk/rock music which has been called “Authentic, Timeless, Harmonious and Exhilarating."
