Troop 107 Committee Meeting Minutes January 29, 2004   Present: Mark Brandyberry, Rebecca Dressler, Joy Fuller, Tom Fuller, Patti J. Hood, Lorraine Logue, Mary Manard, James Marshall, Karen Miller, Ann Reid, Tish Stanner, Scott Sullivan   The meeting was called to order at 7:12 by Committee Chair Mark Brandyberry.    The Agenda was distributed and approved.    Minutes from the 20 November 2004 meeting were distributed and approved.    Committee Reports   Treasurer – Rebecca DresslerActivity statements and scout account information were passed out. 2004 registration is on the activity statement. Mr. Fish sold the extra popcorn. The troop purchased a cook box.   Outdoor Activities – Lorraine LogueJanuary 30 is the Klondike Derby. February 21 is the Hoopeston badge workshop. The boys can start to register for Hoopeston. It is $8.00 per person. We will leave at 6:30AM, and breakfast is at 7:30AM. February 15 is Scout Sunday. Mission to Mars is the night of February 13, and Saturday February 14th during the day. A discussion of whether this was too many activities for one weekend took place. We decided to bring this issue up before the boys. It is their choice to do any cancellations. They may not want to cancel anything.  Mary Manard mentioned that there is an Eagle Scout recognition dinner on Sunday, February 22. It is at 1:00PM at the Holiday Inn in Urbana. A motion to spend $100 to sponsor a table at this event was approved.    A March 13 Scout outing needs to be planned. The boys will work on this.   Scout Master’s Comments – Bill DickIt is time to start thinking about summer camp. It is also time to register for the National Jamboree. It will be held approximately July 20 through August 6, 2005. It will cost around $1200 and a $200 deposit is due. It will be a bus tour organized by a tour company. Prairielands Council will have two troops attending. A boy must be 12 years old and at least 1st class in order to attend. Three uniforms are needed. It was mentioned that another trip for the boys who won’t be attending could be planned.   Adult Training – Bill DickPrairielands Training College is on February 14th.    Advancement – Joy FullerActive scouts have been entered in the new Troopmaster software. She encouraged us to verify our scout’s information. Keep all rank advancement cards and merit badge cards as they can prove what the boys have completed.   Fundraising  - Elisabeth is not here. Mary Manard gave a popcorn update. The council is looking at another company. Candy sales start February 27. Money is split 50/50 between the troop account and the scout’s account. The candy is marked as “camp candy.” Other fundraising ideas such as a pancake and sausage breakfast were discussed. Email any other ideas to Elisabeth.   Trailer Painting Contest Lorraine Logue mentioned that there is only one entry so far.    Quartermaster’s ReportMark talked for Brad. The new cookbox is here. We are not sure if the popup tent has been fixed.    Service Projects – Patti HoodShe is still going to be the person to come up with ideas.    New Business Mary Manard stated that Bill Dick will receive the Silver Beaver Award on March 28 at the Beef House in Covington IN. This is the biggest award that one can get as a local volunteer. This will cost $25 per person. We can call the service center to sign up. There will not be assigned seating.
