Make-A-Difference Awards
The Illinois Club was founded in 1906 as a faculty wives' and women's club.
Its members now include men and women both. They are faculty, staff, and spouses
from all academic, research, administrative, and extension areas of the University,
as well as community members. Since 1917, The Illinois Club has provided financial
support to worthy undergraduate students. For the 2009 - 2010 Academic Year,
The Illinois Club will award four or five scholarships: three or four $1500 Make-A-Difference
Awards and the $7500 Judith Life Ikenberry Fine Arts Award.Make-A-Difference Awards
Women or men who are of second semester sophomore or any junior status as of September 2008
who will be enrolled in classes during 2009 - 2010 and have a minimum GPA of 2.75 are eligible.
The Judith Life Ikenberry Fine Arts Award
Women or men who are of second semester sophomore or any junior status as of September 2008
who will be enrolled in classes during 2009 - 2010 and have a minimum GPA of 2.75 are eligible.
This scholarship will be awarded to a student in the College of Fine and Applied Arts or to a
Creative Writing major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Applications
Applications must be submitted by Monday, December 1, 2008. They are available at the Student
Services Building, Office of Women's Programs, 610 East John Street, Champaign or online. Applicants
must attach a 500 words or less statement to their application explaining how they plan to use their
education to "Make-A-Difference" in the lives of others. Semi-finalists will be interviewed in January
