The lab is located in the basement of the church, which is across the street from Mandela Elementary School. To enter the lab one enters through the adjoining teaching lab or hallway

History

• Worked with Neighborhood Technical Assistance Center (NTAC), a part of Digital ESL (http://www.digitalesl.org) and of East Saint Louis Action Research Program (http://www.eslarp.uiuc.edu/overview), for approximately 3 years
• Galilee Central Community Outreach and Learning Center
• Would like to provide basic computer training for community people, young and old
• Ideally wants it to be open, with supervision, daily…stress on providing a place for youth to do homework
• Looking into two sources for internet provision: sharing the wireless connection from Mandela Elementary or, if that fails, paying for the internet connection through the previously installed television cable
