Plan of Execution

We plan to complete the following for Summit Ave. by the time we visit them on November 14 and 15. Our main goal is to provide working computers, which is accomplished with the first four steps. After this is completed with will work hard to accomplish the rest of the tasks, although one or two may need to be dropped because of time concerns.

(1). Auto nuke computers – clear off any and all data
(2). Install operating systems: Six computers will be given Microsoft XP and five will be given Linux Mint. This process includes the installation of firewalls and other basic security updates.
(3). Install Open Office programs
(4). Networking (On site) All computers will be connected toa single, hard-line network. The wiring infrastruction for the network is currently being set up and should be completed by November 14.
(4). Create an educational packet to support three basic aspects: reading, writing, and computer literacy. The packet will consist of open software programs, a list of internet resources, and, if time permits, basic lesson plans created by our group. Any software will be open sourced. If time permits, well will develop computer literacy lesson plans and other handouts. Whenever possible these resources will be bilingual.
(5). Bilingual User/Admin Settings. In order to accomodate the growing diversity of the area, Spanish user and administrative settings will be created.
(6). Survey System. In order to find out the human capital / skill set of the Summit Ave. congregation, we would like to create a survey and possible a way to track the results.
