The Steps the Organization Needs to Accomplish Prior to Computer Delivery
- Need to give us electric information
- Locate and setup desk/table space/counters in the computer lab space for the computers
- Will need to pay for internet, possibily other components (routers, switches) to make the network work
The Steps the Project Team Needs to Accomplish Prior to Computer Delivery
- Figure out what ISP would work best and what that would require as far as routers, switches, monthly fees to then reccomend purchases to the church community
- Install an OS on wiped lab computers
- Installing various softwares to meet the community’s needs, e.g., educational programs, computer games, office software, photo, audio and video editing programs.
Potential Risks That Might Hinder Fully Accomplishing the Plan
- Insufficient amprage into the room. If the room is on a single circuit, or if it shares a circuit with other rooms with intensive power needs, it is possible to trip the circuit breaker. Given that the church was recently rewired for additional electric needs, this may not be an issue.
- Lack of physical space. The room itself is fairly small, so working out a layout that accomodates ten computers may be fairly difficult.
- Lack of printer drivers, or incompatibility with the site’s router.
- No phyiscal space on campus for “pre-implementation” of working lab. This means that, while we may have the individual computers working, we will not know for sure what the setup as a whole will do until we reach the site.
