Sniff, sniff, no one wants to eat dinner with me! Just kidding. That just gives me more time to go vote and run some errands.
Let’s say my place at 6pm.
Computers 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 14, and 15 are all at Prairienet and all need either Win98 or Updates. Can you grab those, Wayne? Do you need help with loading? If so, give me a call (217-649-7791). The rest at PNet have hardware issues that are better addressed there instead of at my place.

I think we still need to go online and get more recent Windows updates than are on the Update CD itself, but I don’t know when we are supposed to do that, after we take them to New Macedonia or now?
>>as for tonight, how many computers are there are your house
>>to update?
There are 5 computers at my place. Four have Updates. One needs a new battery before we can even format it. I don’t know if there are any batteries at PNet for us to grab or not.
>>can we get an email together to send, or call new macedonia?
Yes! Let’s definitely do that.

Okay, all the computers (except for two that are being bad little computers that won’t boot) are nuking themselves. Woo hoo! Let’s meet back at my place around 6pm. We’ll load up the OS(s), get some pizza or Thai, figure out what’s wrong with the two bad ones, and make a plan of attack for the floor plan, the printer, and whatever else we need to do. And maybe watch Lost.
Please give me a call if you have trouble finding my place. Just remember, it looks like a driveway and has a little white, handpainted sign instead of a common green street sign.

Hey gang,
I just talked to Martin about the computers. We will be assigned computers by Wednesday. After that we will be able to start working on them. I think the best way to handle it is to start testing the computers and installing the OS. At the same time we can work on finding software to meet the needs of the Church. We can have one comp to test the software on as we find it. Once all computers are finished and all software has been selected, we can create a disk with all the programs on it and use that to install the programs on all the computers. What do you all think?
Response
Hi Everybody,
-I think your plan sounds great. Hana, thanks for sending a thank-you note so quickly to. And thanks for the pictures and offering a space to work-a great idea because Prairienet is so tiny, and because I’m assuming we will need extra prep time besides the lab hours.
(That’s all I can think of for now till the coffee kicks in.)

We wanted to thank you for taking the time to meet with us on Saturday, and for giving us a tour of New Macedonia. It meant a lot to us to actually be in East St. Louis, and to meet the people we will be working with.
We are so pleased with the space, your goals, and your enthusiasm, and we look forward to working with you.
