The Steps the Organization Needs to Accomplish Prior to Computer Delivery

• Take steps to ensure that power grid will adequately serve a computer lab.
• Possibly install Ethernet jack(s) in wall for wired Internet access
• Have adequate furniture (chairs, desks) for x computers.
• Identify community members who will want to be trained as Technical Advisors for New Horizon Community computer lab.
• Communicate any needs and/or wishes to GSLIS team.

The Steps the Project Team Needs to Accomplish Prior to Computer Delivery

• Check, recheck and recheck (again) donated computers to make sure that they are functioning.
• Inventory and obtain necessary peripherals.
• Assess operating system and available software.
• Install necessary software (virus protection, word processing software, web browsers, etc.)
• Create handbook (tutorial) for Technical Advisors and users.
• Maintain consistent contact with site coordinators and document communications.
