Outcomes
1. New homepage of Kids Club
We need Homepage of Kids club becuase manager want to advertise about donation or volunteer. She had only one advertisement way such as Facebook. So, We could create new homepage of Kids club by Dreamhost. Dreamhost has generously promised free hosting forever for non-profit orgs. However, manager of Kids club as executive director of Community Service Center prefered cscrantoul.org in order to avoid confusion with things going on in Champaign. We must keep domain address with Dreamhost. As a result, We bulit New homepage of Kids club that has for two target (Adults and Teens).
2. New lab
Computers and Software : We set up Six computer. You can see detailed hardware in computers at next page. We installed about 20 software with 6 wireless computers : Open source or freeware education and media creation packages. Thanks to build computer lab, Kids can write sheet music and Design fliers or magazines. Plus, they can practice math, spelling, and typing at the lab. Kids and their parents can record songs and stories for educational purpose. They can also explore the globe, solar system, or galaxy.
Wireless internet : We needed Wireless internet because the new lab is far from a office room that has a modem.
Wireless printer : Wendy required she wanted to control the printer at office room because If the printer set up at computer lab, the kids print anything without self control. Thus, we needed a wireless printer because the door of office room can lock. We picked up one printer and cleaned it up and changed new cartridge. And we automatically installed the printer driver at computers as using USB of printer.
3.Change mood in New lab
Before this room is totally white mood. We decided to change mood for Kids. we set up some decorations and painted to the wall(teal and line color). We took a couple of owls and bluebirds. At the painted wall, owls are dating at the night under the moon and stars. The bluebird also see each other and see valuable clauses. We wanted to show daytime and good clauses when kids entering the lab. Plus, We needed chalkboards for kids can feel like they have own space and can change anytime by their selves. So, we bought chalk sticker and attached to the mirror.
