Overview of Organization

History of Organization

Greater Glory was founded as a nondenominational Christian Church in 2003 by Pastor Curtis Malone. Before fulfilling its current function as church, the building had been utilized for such purposes as a hardware store and a motel. Pastor Malone saw in the building possibilities for service to his Lord, to his community, and to his family. From its initial congregation which included Pastor Malone and his five children, the congregation has blossomed to its current number of 50 members. Greater Glory plans for continued growth.

Summary of Organization’s Vision, Mission, and Goals

Greater Glory Christian Church Mission: “Our mission is to minister as Jesus Christ would to the afflicted, the sinners and the Christians. That they may be healed, delivered, and set free.”

Greater Glory, under the leadership of Pastor Malone, has a vision to set up a computer laboratory to provide education and programming to children and young adults involved in the church. Pastor Malone would like to provide a safe environment for in which to develop their Internet and technical skills for the future. He has been actively pursuing the accomplishment of this mission (e.g., he has located some local computers that are to be donated for the project and has worked to renovate his physical space).

The impetus for the computer laboratory arises from Pastor Malone’s vision to meet his people’s natural and spiritual needs. The computer lab will be one way to help the youth of his community flourish. The overarching goals for the computer lab are to provide educational opportunities to aid the youth of the church in developing practical and technical skills. The partnership with Prairienet to build a computer lab will serve as an integral step in enabling Greater Glory to follow its vision, buttress its mission, and meet its goals, while ministering to the needs of its community.
