Inventory of Equipment and Software

GSLIS will provide nine system units to Greater Glory. The original plan called for ten computers, but Ernie proved to be too feisty for a mere semester worth of troubleshooting. With nine computers, the lab will be more than functional with eight lab computers and one office computer to add to the laptop Pastor Malone already owns.

Pastor Malone has pledged to provide eight keyboards, monitors, and mice to furnish the computer lab (the GSLIS team will bring the other two of each of these items). Greater Glory has also furnished the printer for the lab; the printer will be placed in the office with Oscar and Pastor Malone’s laptop.

The GSLIS team has manufactured 12 functional network cables of sundry lengths to enable us to network the lab computers to each other and to the switches. Regarding switches, GSLIS will be providing two smaller switches (instead of one larger one) as the most user-friendly network layout involves placing a switch in the northwest and northeast corners of the lab. GSLIS is also providing 20 power chords (2 per computer, one for the laptop and 2 extras).

GSLIS will be bringing a tool box filled with all sorts of goodies such as a screwdriver, plastic cable ties and a flashlight. These will prove invaluable as we endeavor to troubleshoot the problems, should any arise (of course, as an optimistic team, we are ready to meet all challenges).
