Overview & History of Organization

The Genesis Mission Baptist Church is a 45 member congregation located in Madison, IL. The brick and mortar church was donated to Genesis 5 years ago by the First Baptist Church of Madison. While worship services and bible studies are held on Sundays and Tuesdays, grants are being written to open the Genesis Mission Baptist Church to the community through such programs as Big Brother/ Big Sister (through Fraternities and Sororities in SIU Edwardsville), Latch Key, Summer Food Program, and Senior Citizens activities.

Summary of Organization’s Vision, Mission, and Goals

The Genesis Mission Baptist Church would like to further open its doors to the many groups of people in the community. They would like a computer lab with 10-15 computers from young children using software to learn about the bible to senior citizens learning about word processing and computers in general. Genesis wants to cast its net wide to encompass as many as possible.
