The Steps the Organization Needs to Accomplish Prior to Computer Delivery

Eagle’s Nest needs to finalize building renovation in order to provide a controlled, ADA compliant, and relatively clean environment for the computers.  This includes completing the electrical wiring in the offices and the computer lab, the removal of mold, and installing a sprinkler system. The center also needs to provide the furniture for the computer lab.

The Steps the Project Team Needs to Accomplish Prior to Computer Delivery

• Have all 18 computers ready to go with user software (open office, web browsers, screen magnifier) and anti-virus software (clam win, ad-aware, comodo) installed.
• Make network cables for each computer.
• Write training handouts and tutorials for basic computing tasks, such as using Open Office, getting on the Internet, setting up an email account and using email, and updating virus scan software.
• Compile a list of weblinks to online resources that may be helpful to the veterans, such as job search websites, the VA website with downloadable forms, and educational typing tutorials.

Potential Risks That Might Hinder Fully Accomplishing the Plan

The delivery and/or installation of computers may be delayed if the building renovation has not progressed enough to set up computers.  In that case, our plan is to set up computers in the staff office first.
