Funding
Final setup to be next spring
by Martin Wolske – Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 10:13 AM
I got word from Abby yesterday that while funding has been approved, they’re still awaiting the proper signatures on that approval. Don rightly won’t start his work until that’s been secured, since the money can’t be counted on without that signature. So Abby is recommending we just plan on using volunteers during the first work weekend next semester to go over and do the setup. Jake Odland will be in charge of doing some training as part of his assistantship next semester, too, and he would much appreciate any training stuff you’ve already developed.
I’m really sorry it didn’t work out for us to do the install this semester!

Hello Martha and Melanie,
I hope you both had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends! ![]()
Our group heard the disappointing news from Martin regarding the proper signatures needed for approval. We are so sorry things did not work out quite as planned, but we have the utmost confidence and faith in Eagle’s Nest. Unfortunately, the five of us will not be able to see the final results, assist in the training aspect, and get to meet some of the users, but groups of volunteers from ESLARP are definitely planning on making trips to oversee the end of the project. Our group is more than thankful for this new plan because we know that the Eagle’s Nest will be in good hands next year!
Our group would like to invite both of you to come to our Final Presentation on December 12th in Room 126 in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science Building on 501 E. Daniel Street in Champaign. On this day, our group will be sharing with the rest of the class and a few other guests the missions and goals of Eagle’s Nest, our insights on preparing for the site, and our final outcomes and lessons we have taken away from this experience. We would love to have the two of you join us on this day as guest speakers or to participate as members of the audience. Following the presentations will be a final wrap up party at Martin’s house. He has opened up his lovely home for all of us!
All five of us would like to thank you for giving us this opportunity to be such active members of your community, Martha and Melanie. We hope that you can make it on the 12th to hear our appreciation for the Eagle’s Nest.
