Overview of Organization

Disciple Fellowship Christian Church’s (DFCC) primary goal is to positively impact the community. The congregation comes from Shiloh, St. Louis, East St. Louis, and other area communities. DFCC’s financial support comes from the tithes and offerings of the congregation.

History of Organization

DFCC was founded on November 19, 2000. Its leaders are Pastor Herman and Elder Michele Tolar. It is classified as “a non-denominational Christian church…under the covering of Transformation Christian Church & World Outreach Center in St. Louis, Missouri” (excerpted from handout about ministry). In seven years, it has expanded to include the educational building as well as the church and administrative buildings, and future plans for expansion include area housing and a senior care facility.

Summary of Organization’s Vision, Mission, and Goals

DFCC’s primary goal is community outreach– they believe that “by spiritually impacting the home, we make disciples in the neighborhood, when we steadfastly reach the neighborhood, we bring about change in the community, when the community is changed, the area is changed, when the area is changed, we change the world by fulfilling the great commission of Jesus Christ.” (excerpted from vision handout).

Community outreach includes witnessing in the neighborhood, holding classes on a variety of topics (marriage, parenting, substance abuse, youth classes, children’s church, etc.), and they hope to increase tutoring and education efforts for children and adults in the community, as well as to expand drug and HIV counseling activities. They also hope to provide life skills training.
