Implementation Plan
Week 2
- Communicate with Martin and Paul regarding procurement of 9 computers. Also discuss availability of new larger hard drives.
- Begin work on updating Mac computer and any other computers we will bring next visit.
- Prepare training for Christina and Al on iMovie. (Possibly make handouts for them to keep)?
Week 3
Pre-visit:
- Complete work on updating Mac and other computers.
- Research web hosting services available to assist in making Community Concepts website “live.”
- Install increased RAM where needed in the nine computers we are taking. Take extra RAM for the computers in the lab.
- Can we get additional hard drives?
- Obtain appropriate virus software
At site:
- Fix virus on computer 1 (Violet).
- Install new computers.
- Train Christina and Al on iMovie.
- Troubleshoot printer issues?
- Assist in making website “live” and assist in file organization.
- Fix power supply on # 6
- Examine processor on # 3
- Defragment and clean up all computers.
- Remove the five computers Christina is donating.
- Talk to Christina about file organization on computers.
- Update operating systems
Week 4
- Meet Christina at Community Concepts 1:30 Thursday 06.05.2008
- Install two computers on the first floor.
- Ask Christina if she wants both computers on the first floor connected to the printers on the second floor.
- Back up web page files
- Needed two batteries on #10 and the computer left in Champaign.
- Need CD burning software for Windows 98
Followup
- Once Internet is established in the lab Christina and Al need to update all computers to ensure security and software updates. The Mac’s require updates as well.
- Al would like one addition hard drive for Computer # 19
- Ongoing research on web hosting for the website
- Continue to monitor viruses
- Check on iMac and Ubunto usages
- Continually Defragment and clean up all computers
