Goals

One goal of the library is to expand into a bigger facility. According to Valerie, she does not have enough space to shelve new materials and therefore is forced to actively weed materials three to five years old.

Valerie would also like to be able to provide classes to her patrons, including computer skills for adults and children.

Organization’s Priorities for Implementation of Technology

Valerie would like working computers that can be used for job applications and homework. She acknowledges that the majority of the patrons use the computers to access the Internet for social networking purposes, but would like to keep them from accessing inappropriate material on the web. She uses her computer primarily for cataloging purposes. Keeping those goals in mind, priorities would seem to be hardware upgrades, network connectivity, educational software, and filtering software.
