Communication-May

Dear Valerie,

Hello! How are you? We hope you have had a chance to relax after our whirlwind day of computer activity. We’ve learned a lot more in class this past week, and we are excited to come back on May 29th and work with you again.

We were wondering how you like the two computers that we left with you. Do you still like Puppy the best? Have you gotten to use any more of the Edubuntu educational programs? We’d be happy to hear any feedback you want to give us on using those computers. It will be helpful for us if we can hear what you like and what you don’t like, what’s working and what’s not working.

We would also like to gather some general information about the Centreville Public Library. We were hoping you might be able to answer three questions for us. We know you are busy, so brief answers would be fine. Here are the questions:

1. Can you tell us a little about the history of Centreville Public Library? How did it start, who started it, and how long has it been around? Where has it been located?
2. Can you provide a summary of your vision, mission, and goals?
3. What are your priorities for implementing technology? For example, is it most important to have internet access, to have a lot of storage space, to be able to print, to have all the computers working, to be able to type in a word document, or is something else more important?

Finally, we have a fun and easy question. We will get a chance to name all the computers, and we were wondering if you’d like to think of a theme to name all the computers. For example, one of the other groups is naming all their computers after famous musicians. If you’d rather stick to the basics, though, we can just name each computer with its serial number. Let us know what you’d like!

Let us know if you have any questions for us. Thanks!
