Pastor's Corner
Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out,
so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
I repent! I repent! I repent! Bring on the time of refreshments from God.
Can I request warm refreshments? please. thank you.
My apartment is painfully dry right now. Yes, a humidifier is going.
Yes, there are bowls of water on the radiator. Yes, I use lotion. Yes, I use eyedrops too.
Even so, my skin, my nose, my throat, my eyes, my hair - ME- is dry.
And right about now I think many of our spirit's need refreshment too. Our hearts are a little overworked, dry, and aching.
We are waiting, longing, and leaning into the morning when we can sleep in, the afternoon we can take a long nap, under a heavy, warm blanket.
Even though family can sometimes be stressful too - they are our people and we get to settle in, relax, let go. Thank God.
Those times of refreshment are with us in the relationships of love, patience, and kindness.
God's sweet, warm cup of refreshment might be in a cuddly pet on your lap, your Grandma's corn casserole, the smell of home,
the quiet presence of a treasured friend. Thank God.
I pray you all are refreshed by the presence of God with us, Immanuel, this Christmas season.
Peace, peace, and more peace dripping down your head.
