Quilt Bibliography, compiled by Valerie S. Rake

General Notes:

This list includes both books and articles and leans toward academic
sources. Given the nature of e-mail, book and journal titles aren't
underlined. You'll have to figure them out from context. With a few
execeptions, I have not included catalogs from quilt exhibitions--of which
there are a huge number! A good public library will have some of the stuff
on the list or may be able to get copies. Others, you may need to make some
contacts at an academic library.

Overall, I also recommend the publications of the American Quilt Study
Group. They publish a yearly academic journal called _Uncoverings_ and a
newsletter called "Blanket Statements." I have some references to
_Uncoverings_ in the biblio.  These are by far not the only useful ones;
they are just the ones I have had time to annotate. AGSG's mailing address
is 660 Mission Street Suite 400, San Fancisco CA 94105-4007. Their phone
number is (415) 495-0163.  The e-mail address is aqsg@aol.com
