The Alliance for American Quilts
The Alliance seeks to further the recognition of quilts; to preserve the history of quilts and quiltmakers; and to establish The Center for The Quilt, America's quilt home, an international resource, a collective memory bank for all that is known and remembered about quiltmakers, quilt artists, and their quilts, and an active source of educational programming and outreach for the preservation and dissemination of quilt history.
American Quilters Society (AQS)
AQS is a national organization that sponsors an annual quilt show and contests during the spring in Paducah, KY where their office and museum are located. The American Quilter is the quarterly publication.
National Quilting Association (NQA)
NQA is a national organization with headquarters in Ellicott City, MD. The quarterly publication is American Quilter. NQA sponsors a yearly quilt show in various locations across the United States. Illini Country Stitchers is a chapter of the NQA.
International Quilt Association (IQA)
IQA is a nonprofit quilt association with headquarters in Houston, Texas, and with members from around the world. IQA holds its annual judged show of members' work and its annual meeting in conjunction with International Quilt Festival in Houston each fall. Their members receive Quilts...A World of Beauty, a quarterly color magazine featuring quilts from the judged show and news about members and activities around the world. They also offer, through a grant program, continuing education and support for the developing needs of quilters. IQA sponsors Quilt Expo, a biennial quilt exposition in Europe.
American Quilt Study Group (AQSG)
AGSG's goal is to develop a responsible and accurate body of information about quilts and their makers. It is dedicated to preserving the story of quiltmaking - past, present, and future. It publishes a newsletter, Blanket Statements, and a magazine, Uncoverings.
Canadian Quilters' Association/Association Canadienne de la Courtepointe (CQA/ACC)
The aims of the organization are: the promotion of a greater understanding, appreciation and knowledge of the art, techniques and heritage of patchwork, applique and quilting; the promotion of the highest standards of workmanship and design in both traditional and innovative work; the fostering of a climate of cooperation amongst quiltmakers across the country.
National On-line Quilters (NOQ)
NOQ is an on-line nation-wide guild for quilters with computers. This site includes discussions, challenges, mystery quilts, etc.
Quilt San Diego (Quilt Visions)
A nonprofit international arts organization dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of the quilt as art.
