On
May 19, 2005, the Moore farm was hit by hail as two major weather
fronts collided over Watseka. Pea size and larger hail fell for
10 minutes, along with 45 mile an hour winds and an inch of rain
during the brief but damaging storm. Above, hail collects outside
the small shed located near the Moore's back door. Below, Jim's
truck is covered with leaves stripped from the trees by the hail.
Lower, broccoli plants are bent and some broken by the storm.
