Posting a message to CSA-L

In order to post to CSA-L, you must be subscribed to the list and send the message from the account name that you are subscribed on. In other words, If you have several e-mail accounts or aliases you need to send e-mail from the account you subscribed from.

To post a message to the whole list, send it to CSA-L.

Please email questions about subscribing and unsubscribing to the moderator, NOT the entire list.

All messages should follow the guideline below:

Messages should relate to the purpose of the list. If you are unsure about whether something is relevant, please send it to the listowner and ask for it to be forwarded to the list, this includes pleas for environmental activist causes.

Under no circumstances is the list to be used to solicit participants for research projects.

Also, do not use the list to self promote books or other such items that you receive income from. This said, if you have a weed burner for sale, feel free to say so.

Messages should have a clear subject heading. This makes it easier for readers to scan their mail for topics relevant to them.

Messages between individuals should not go to the entire list unless the information in them may be of interest to the list. This helps to keep traffic down on the list.

Messages should include a good signature which includes your name, any organization that you represent, and where you are located geographically.

Questions that are answered in the Frequently Asked Questions Postings (FAQs) should be avoided. Please read through them before asking any common questions such as What is a CSA? and Where can I find one in my area?

Messages should include sources for information if possible, including whether information can be freely distributed (e.g. newsletter articles), sources of facts and figures, and contributing authors and funding organizations.

These guidelines are to improve the quality and effectiveness of the list as a networking tool. As the number of subscribers to the list grows, the success of the list will depend on the quality of our postings.
