What are IDAs?

Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) are matched savings accounts designed to facilitate asset acquisition in low to moderate income individuals and families. IDA programs are present in cities all across the United States . Programs are funded by private organizations and donors, as well as all levels of government. Each program has its own specified criteria for participation, but criteria most often include income and asset limitations.

For more information on IDAs in general, please see the Center for Social Development’s website.
