Cindy Breeze, Associate Pastor

I am the Associate Pastor at First Mennonite Church, with my primary foci being Christian education and worship. Called from within the congregation to become a licensed pastor ten years ago, I have completed studies at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana and was ordained in 2001. I graduated in music education from the University of Illinois, and prior to becoming a pastor, was a public school music teacher for 17 years. My husband Clark and I are the parents of two daughters. Both Lara and Hilary attended Goshen College, are married, and live in Fort Collins, Colorado and Chicago, respectively. Cindy enjoys reading, writing curriculum, composing music, knitting, and leading retreats.

Peter Henry Dyck, Elder

My wife Sheryl and I became part of the FMC community in 1981 and have seen the congregation stay consistently , wonderfully diverse.  Our three daughters have grown up physically and spiritually in the rich life of this fellowship of believers.  The Church also helped in their going to Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana.  I serve as an elder on the spiritual leadership team and work as a Pastoral Minister (Chaplain) at Provena Covenant Medical Center here in Urbana.  I have responsibility for spiritual care of patients and their families - on the Behaviorial Health and Critical Care units.  I participate in a number of ecumenical/racial-reconciling efforts in Champaign and Urbana.
