Individual Membership Application

1. Choose your membership option and payment method

Individual membership options

All accounts are protected by a state-of-the-art spam and virus filter. All accounts are allotted 20MB for email. This quota is separate from the home and Web directory quotas.

• Limited Membership (no dialup Internet access). $35 per year. Designed for people who already have Internet access though an Internet Service Provider. Includes secure e-mail, secure FTP, SSH (to Prairienet Classic or UNIX shell), access to over 30,000 USENET newsgroups, and a personal Web site. 10MB Web, 10MB Home.

• Individual Membership $90 per year. Includes everything offered in the Limited Membership plus 10 hours of dialup Internet access (PPP dialup) per day. 10MB Web, 10MB Home.

• Household Membership. $170 per year. Allows up to five school-age or older members of a household to have separate logins and passwords, each with 10 hours of dialup Internet access per day. Each member needs to fill out and sign their own application. This account may be paid either paid yearly or every 6 months.

• NetNeighbors Membership Grant. Same features as an Individual Membership. Applicant must meet income guidelines, provide proof of income, and submit a signed Netneighbor application form. Limited to one NetNeighbor account per household.

• Student Account. $70 per year. Same features as an Individual Membership. Student must show student ID or send in copy.

• Senior Account (60 and over) $70 per year. Same features as an Individual Membership. Applicant must show or send proof of age.

2. Choose a Payment Option

Register online with a credit card

If you are 18 or older and applying for a Limited, Individual, or Household Membership you may choose to register online with a credit card. (Credit card payments are made via secure server through the University of Illinois' Cybercash system).

Register by postal mail

• If you prefer to register by mail
• OR you are under 18 and applying for Limited, Individual, or Household Membership
• OR you are applying for a Senior or Student Membership
• print necessary forms to register by mail. A Parental Permission Form is required for any youth under 18 who wishes to apply for a full Adult membership.
• If you would like to apply for the NetNeighbor Grant or Low Income Membership, please use our NetNeighbors Application Form
