Intercambio Cultural Maya is a ecumenical group working with service-learning projects in the Yucatan region of Mexico. Intercambio was founded by Campus Pastors Jack Diel and Charlie Sweitzer with the assistance of Rev Ramon Celis, the past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Mexico, and the founder of Yucatan Presbyterian Ministries. Twice a year, Intercambio goes to the Yucatan Peninsula and we are celebrating 21 years and 38+ successful trips. Summer trips focus on urban construction projects; winter trips are in rural Mayan villages and feature construction, medical/dental, and health education work. Now is the time to make plans for the next summer or winter trip!

Intercambio is unique in that it allows you to help indigenous people in a developing nation, and help yourself through experiential learning in a different cultural setting. You will be part of a community chosen development project, building friendships across national, racial, and cultural boundaries.

Adults of all ages are welcome to apply as age is not a barrier. Construction skills are not a requirement. High school students may participate as part of a youth contingent on Summer trips. There will be work available which does not involve heavy physical labor. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but is not required.

You can make a difference! The world will be a better place because of your involvement.
