The League of Women
Voters is a nonpartisan, political organization which encourages the
informed
and active participation of citizens in government, influencing public
policy through education and advocacy. Any person of voting age, male
or
female, may become a League member.
MEETINGS
Unless
otherwise noted, meetings begin at 11:30 am for brown bag lunch.
Programs starts promptly at noon.
LWVCC meetings are cancelled and rescheduled
whenever Champaign Schools are closed due to weather. Check
here for the rescheduled
date.

The 2007-2008 Who's Who was
released at our September 2007 meeting. Copies have been mailed
to members and to certain
government officials and will be delivered by our observers or other volunteers to officials named in the
book During the year
you can pick up a free
copy
of the new Who's Who at the reference desk of the
public
libraries in
Champaign,
Urbana, Mahomet, Rantoul, St Joseph and Tolono.
The 2007-2008 version
is
now online on our website, but not in its final format. Changes
to the format which will allow additions and corrections have not yet
been made. When the editing is finished, changes made
during the year as a result of elections or board appointments
will be noted in the additions and corrections sections of applicable
pages as we learn of them. Send change information to lwv@prairienet.org.
