PEPPER GINGERNUTS
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Cream together butter and brown sugar. Add egg; beat well. Add remainder of ingredients and roll out on a floured table to a thickness of 1/4 inch or thinner. Cut into 3/4 to 1-inch squares and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350¼ until done (10-12 minutes). Try a half recipe-this makes a lot.
