DIRT

1 pkg (1 lb 4 oz) cream-filled chocolate cookies, such as Oreos
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, room temperature
3 tb butter or margarine, room temperature
2 pkgs (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
3 cups milk
2 containers (8 oz each) whipped topping, thawed
Gummy candy worms for garnish

In food processor or blender, process cookies in batches until they resemble fine crumbs (or dirt). Set aside.

In large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. In a second bowl, combine pudding mix and milk. Beat until mixture begins to thicken, about a minute or two. Combine pudding and cream cheese mixtures, mixing well. Fold in whipped topping.

Lightly butter inside of 8¼-inch high pottery or clay flowerpot that is 8½ inches in diameter. Place plastic lid in bottom of pot to cover hole. Line entire pot (includ-ing bottom) with plastic wrap to within 1½ inches of top of pot. Place about a cup of cookie crumbs (dirt) in bottom of pot. Top with about 2½ cups of pudding mixture. Continue layering cookie crumbs and pudding mixture, ending with cookie crumbs.

Cover and refrigerate two hours or overnight. Just before serving, insert a bouquet of silk flowers in the center of the pot. Top dirt with assorted colors of gummy worms, if desired, and serve with a gardening trowel. Cover and refrigerate any that is left. Makes 12 to 16 servings.
