Setting up PPP dialup on Windows XP

1. Click the START button on the Desktop.
2. Click on CONTROL PANEL.
3. Click on NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS
4. Click on SET-UP OR CHANGE YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION.
5. Click on SETUP..
6. Choose "Connect to the Internet" and click on the NEXT button.
7. Click on "Set Up My Connection Manually" and click on the NEXT button.
8. Choose "Connect Using A Dial-up Modem" and click NEXT.
9. In the ISP Name field, type in prairienet.org and click on the NEXT button.
10. In the Phone Number field, type in the Prairienet connection number. You can use any of the numbers from 239-1001 and click on the NEXT button.
11. On the Internet Account Information screen, type in your Prairienet login as the USER NAME and your Prairienet password as the PASSWORD. Type in your PASSWORD again to confirm it and click on the NEXT button.
12. Click on the FINISH button.

Once you have this set up you should just need to open Internet Explorer or Netscape and the computer should prompt you to establish a connection. Once the connection is established you will see the two flashing computers down in the bottom right hand corner next to the time. When you are done using the internet you will click on these and click on the "Disconnect" button. If you forget to disconnect it stays connected to Prairienet which keeps your phone busy and uses up your dial-up time for the week.
