PENNIES FOR FRIENDSHIP
The breakdown of funds for Pennies For Friendship is as follows.
1. Fifteen percent (15%) of the total amount is placed in the Illinois
Association for Home and Community Education (IAHCE)
International Project Fund. This covers costs for the International
Foreign Youth Exchange, expenses for the IAHCE President
for the Triennial Meeting, the International Peace Garden, and supplies.
2. Thirty-five percent (35%) is used for travel expenses for the
Homemaker Exchange, both from Illinois to a foreign country and for a
foreign homemaker to visit us.
3. The remaining fifty- percent (50%) is sent to the Associated Country
Women of the World (ACWW) for projects, which they determine to
be most needful. Many other very worthwhile projects
are funded with your contributions, which we send to ACCWW.
These include the Save the Sight, Women Feed the World and Water
Projects. The latter two projects are life sustaining projects that
teach skills to people so that they can independently care for
themselves and learn job skills. They empower people of other
countries to advance from unbelievable conditions to ones that provide
dignity and life support. Written by Debbie Czarnopys-White, IAHCE
