Welcome to the homepage of the Champaign County Emergency Management Agency (EMA).  We are pleased to provide this information to assist with informing and educating the public on emergency planning and disaster recovery.

Champaign County is located in east central Illinois and covers 1,001 square miles. For more information about our county, please check out the Champaign County Homepage.

Champaign County EMA operates an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Urbana, Illinois.  In addition, the EMA administrative offices and METCAD, the primary 9-1-1 center serving Champaign County, are located in this facility.

Homeland Security is a topic that we hear about often in today's world.  Champaign County EMA has been teaching for many years that everyone should have emergency plans in place BEFORE an emergency strikes and to have a disaster kit in your home.  Learn more about Home Shelter now.

Do you have a Weather Radio in your home or business?  We believe that a weather radio is equally as important as a smoke alarm.  Every home and business should have one.  Click HERE, or on the radio to the left, for more information.
