On October 18, 2006 the Center for Women in Transition was presented with the 2006 Governor's Hometown Award in Springfield! The award was given to the Center for their ability to inspire Illinois volunteerism and social change. You can read more about it here and here.

July 30, 2006 marked the official open house date of the Center's new UPS Cetner. The event, which was soponsored by Provena, was an oppotunity for cumminity members to tour the beautiful new home, and a chance for CWT to express its thanks to those who dedicated coutless hours making their draem of expansion a reality.
