Social Justice
Members of the St. Jude Catholic Worker House are committed
to social justice. As such we sponsor speakers, retreats, and discussions
as a way to increase our understanding about contemporary issues and the
ways in which we might be involved. The websites listed offer important
perspectives on our society and on the actions of groups and individuals
working hard to bear witness to the living Christ.
Websites of particular interest to the CW community:
Common Dreams
"is a national non-profit citizens' organization working to bring progressive
Americans together to promote progressive visions for America's future."

to strengthening and supporting independent and alternative journalism."
Voices in the Wilderness

Nonviolence.org

being highly ranked through Gulf War II, the biggest U.S. military action
since the web began."
The Catholic Worker
Movement "founded by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin in 1933, is grounded
in a firm belief in the God-given dignity of every human person."
Jesus Radicals

It is a place for those of us who are tired of playing power games practiced
in the name of Jesus—for those of us who are tired of violence and the lording
of it over others."

on topics related to radical Christian discipleship."

America.
