Participation in all study group activities is open to the entire membership. The study group concept permits in-depth exploration of more narrowly focused fiber related subjects. Study group topics are suggested by the members, and their interests determine the offerings from year to year. The meeting time and place of each group changes yearly.

Please send email to cuswg@prairienet.org to get details for any of the groups listed below.

Wild and Wonderful Weavers

Weavers of all levels of expertise are welcome to join the Weaving Study group. It meets in the evenings on the third Tuesday of each a month at a guild member's house. Note, however, the November meeting will be on the 28th due to Thanksgiving.

Both the day and night group have the same programs, and both meet at at the Urbana Free Library. The day knitters meet the first Wednesday each month from 1 to 3 PM, and the night knitters meet the fourth Monday of each month from 6:45 to 8:45 pm.

Spinning Study Groups

There are two study groups for spinners. One meets on the third Friday each month from 1 to 3 at Needleworks to focus on beginning spinners. The other meets on the second Saturday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 in members' homes. The topics and locations of the Saturday spinning group meetings are announced in the newsletter each month. Spinners of all levels of expertise are welcome at both meetings.

Happy Hookers Study Group

The Happy Hookers rug hooking study group is meeting on the third Tuesday of each month from 10am to 11am. Meetings are held in the home of one of our happy hookers, as announced in the monthly newsletter.
