State PTA Convention - The 102nd annual Illinois PTA state convention will be held April 30 - May 2 in Peoria.  Presidents should have recently received a packet of information about the convention.  There will be various workshops, exhibits, and sessions on bylaws, budgets, etc.  Please encourage your members to attend.  Your PTA budget may include funds to pay the registration fee for delegates to attend from your PTA. It is a great way to learn more about PTA!

Books by the Bushel - The Junior League of Champaign-Urbana is sponsoring the 8th annual Books By The Bushel on April 2 - 4, 2004 at Pages for All Ages Bookstore. The community is invited to purchase books at a 20 % discount for school libraries from a “wish list” provided by school librarians. For more information, please contact Bobbie Jo Kirby at 356-3105.

Calendar Committee Volunteers - Please let me know if you or anyone in your PTA is interested in serving on the district’s calendar committee next year.

Grant Writing Workshop - The C-U Schools Foundation is holding grant writing workshops on April 15, 2004.  These workshops are open to all CU educators and PTAs.  This is the first time they have offered this to PTAs.  These workshops will be about grant writing in general and not specifically orientated to CUSF.  I will distribute a flier about the workshops at our April 1 meeting, or see flyer information below.  Call Gail Rost at 351-7512 if you have any questions or would like to register.

Committee Chairs for next year - Please contact me if you or anyone in your PTA would like to help with the Council handbook or Council Reflection entries next fall. Please ask your PTA members at your next meeting.
