March Program: Mr. Alan Dudley, Unit 4 Assistant Superintendent of
Financial Services and Operations, will
discuss
Please plan to attend to give your opinion on items being
considered for cost reduction.
Encourage others at your school to also attend.
The business meeting will be kept short after the budget discussion to
allow adjournment at or before 7:15 p.m.

Other District Budget Meetings:
March 17 - District will present a list of recommended
reductions at a public Board meeting at the
Mellon Building - 6 p.m. There will be
public review and input from March 17-29.
March 30 - Board of Education will vote on Reduction-in
Force necessary for budget
deficit
State PTA Convention: Presidents should have received
information in your mid-year packet about the convention to be held April 29-May
1, 2005 at the Hilton Hotel in Lisle. You can also look at the Illinois PTA
website
www.illinoispta.org for information.
State PTA Dues: Please be sure your unit has sent in your
final dues payment to the State PTA office by March 25.
School Board Candidate Forum:
PTA Council will host a school board candidate
forum on Thursday, March 31 from 7-9 p.m. at the Mellon Building. The
six school board candidates have been invited to come to answer questions from
the audience and discuss their views on several district issues. Please plan to
attend. School Board elections are on April 5.
Next PTA Council meeting: The April meeting of PTA
Council will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at Franklin Middle School
library. The topic will be "Middle School Reform". Middle school principals
Dr. Susan Zola, Dr. Carol Stack, and Dr. Steve Lucas along with enrichment
specialist, Kristin Camp, and an AVID teacher will be there to discuss how the
changes in curriculum and programs have gone this year.
