Informational Items:

        PTA Courses - PTA and the Law
and ABCs of Finance courses will be offered at Bottenfield School on
Jan. 8 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  Courses will run simultaneously.  Cost is $3.  Registration information is available at the council website (www.prairienet.org/cpta).  Please encourage members of your PTA to attend. 

        Founders' Day Dinner - The February PTA Council meeting will be the annual Founders Day Dinner.  Champaign PTA Council is hosting the event this year on Thursday, Feb. 3 at the Hawthorn Suites Conference Center in Champaign.  Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.  The main speaker that evening will be Dr. Morton Weir, former UIUC chancellor, who will discuss the effects of television violence on youth.  Please plan to attend.  Registration forms will be emailed to you the first week of January.  Please have your PTA executive committee discuss if there is anyone your PTA would like to honor at the Founders' Day Dinner.  Send in the form to request awards (included in the PTA Information Packet) to the state PTA office at least two or three weeks before the dinner.

        NAAPID - National African American Parent Involvement Day will be held on Monday, Feb. 14.  PTA presidents please discuss with your principal about how your PTA might assist with activities at your school that day and encourage parents to become involved.
