Who are Unitarian Universalists?

UU’s draw upon two rich backgrounds: Unitarians historically stressed the unity and oneness of God. Central to Universalists is a belief in universal salvation for all people. Both groups have strong roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition, but contemporary UU’s find meaning and inspiration from many sources: scriptural, natural, poetic and artistic.

UU’s value the intrinsic worth of every person: We welcome people from all religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds who seek to come together in a free search for meaning in their lives. We believe that each individual’s spiritual journey is uniquely personal and independent of any overriding religious dogma or doctrine. Members and friends of the Unitarian-Universalists are frequently in the forefront of movements promoting peace and social justice, human rights, and the preservation of the earth’s environment.
