Portable bridge computer: Pro Bridge (models 310 and 610) by Saitek is the leading portable bridge game. A popular item for travelers, this handheld computer has a large LCD screen and many programming features.
Like bridge-playing software, several of the programs below offer both bidding and play, but they're all primarily designed to teach the game or to help the user improve a specific bridge skill. They offer built-in lessons, extensive analysis and/or interactive quizzes.
Learn to Play Bridge I & II -- These free programs from the American Contract Bridge League are a great place to start if you want to teach yourself how to play. Each Setup program downloads onto one floppy disk, so you can make copies and distribute it freely.
Bridge Master -- Program for improving declarer play skills, organized into five skill levels.
Bridge by Audrey Grant: The Club Series -- An interactive textbook on disk, based on ACBL's Club Series lessons.
Private Bridge Lessons Vol. I & Vol. II , Counting at Bridge, Defense and Conventions -- Card-by-card analyses and expert instruction from world champion Mike Lawrence.
Play and Defend, Modern Bridge Defense and Advanced Bridge Defense -- Interactive tutors from Eddie Kantar.
Play Bridge with Larry Cohen -- Interactive tutor based on hands from the 1999 Life Master Pairs in San Antonio.
Play the Vanderbilt and Play the Cavendish -- Kit Woolsey takes you through entire matches from these prestigious events.
Bridge World Mastersolvers -- Bidding quizzes and expert commentary from the magazine's long-running column.
Bridge Mentor -- Tutorials from Bobby Wolff.
BridgeMania -- Teaching CD for beginners and intermediates.
Dabrisoft -- Two programs to teach declarer play in suit contracts and notrump.
Play 4H/4S & Play 3NT -- Declarer-play tutorials.
These programs generate and print deals for use as hand records in club games or tournaments. Several allow you to enter detailed criteria (points, length in each suit, etc.) so you can practice a certain type of auction or a specific convention with your partner.
Deepfinesse -- Sophisticated and full-featured analysis of deals and double-dummy problems.
Dealmaster Pro -- Commercial dealer and analyzer using Deepfinesse software.
Bidding.exe -- Free dealer and auction analyzer for two-handed bidding practice (Platon Beletsky).
Bridge Bidding Trainer -- Dealer and tutorial for bidding practice.
RP Dealer and other utilities from Richard Pavlicek.
Deal 3.0 -- Free dealer (Thomas Andrews).
Henk Uijterwaal's Dealer -- A modification of Hans van Staveren's dealer .
JavaShuffle -- An online applet that produces a set of nicely formatted hands, ready to print.
ACBLScore -- The program used by duplicate clubs affiliated with the American Contract Bridge League. Downloadable upgrades for current users are also available on this page.
MacRecap -- Commercial scoring program for Macintosh systems.
WinScore -- A commercial scoring program for Windows.
IM -- Free utility that creates a table of instant matchpoints table from a set of user-entered results. (Richard Pavlicek).
Fin-S Bridge Scorer -- A package of scoring and utlity programs for directors and event organizers. Includes English Bridge Union masterpoint awards.
Bridgescorer -- Commercial program that generates movements and scores duplicate games.
Swiss Teams on your Computer -- Handles tasks that ACBLScore does not offer in its Swiss Team mode, including making pairings and computing match and total scores. (Henk Uijterwaal).
ACBL Convention Card Editors -- A free utility from Lee Edwards that can generate and print custom-designed convention cards in 23 different formats, including SAYC and ACBL, WBF and other country organizations. Also available on this page are links to editors for other international convention cards.
Megabridge -- Free dealer and evaluator using high-card points and Losing Trick Count (Hans Roodenburg).
Miscellaneous software -- Hand dealers and accessories, bridge-movie software (in perl), a K&R evaluator (in C), and a utility to design bridge t-shirts. (Jeff Goldsmith).
Bridge calculators and bridge utilities -- An assortment of bridge software and online toys from Richard Pavlicek.

Richard's Bridge Notation (RBN) -- A compact alternative to PBN, with data in RBN and a PBN-to-RBN convertor (Richard Pavlicek).
Card GIFs (large) and (small) -- Two full decks of 52 cards in GIF format for use in website design, publications and bridge software.
